Leaving aside all he trauma in getting to this place, I cannot really speak highly enough of the hotel or its staff. The room was nice if nothing flashy. But comfortable with a nice little sofa to slump on, as well as a balcony overlooking the pool, with the ocean beyond.
The beach to be honest looks nicer than it was, and girded by beware the jellyfish signs.
But the main pool area is very nicely designed. I was able to find myself a nice parasol to hide from the intense sun (and the odd downpour). Then generally read, snooze, listen to my new headphones and take the odd cooling dip.
Beyond the pool area are large expanses of grounds and gardens for those who want to lie under palm trees.
And the hotel area even had wildlife on tap. In the big trees that the hotel was built around a couple of spider monkeys made regular appearances.
Squirrels too, but much harder to capture on film as they raced through the branches.
