We made a slow ascent to the City walls, admiring the medieval architecture, gardens and views on the way.
The walls have been very nicely restored, leaving a feeling both of ruins, but also a sturdy and easy for walking construction.
As you can see, good modern ironwork spiral staircases have been built to allow access to the towers - and the brilliant views. |
As you can see these are substantial walls |
But enough, dinner calls and we found a path down, by the cathedral.
Anyway, suffice to say it was a very good meal, washed down with wine with some more wine to follow. A very happy little band wended its way back to the hotel.
We had an early afternoon flight. So I left the youngster at the hotel to do whatever young people do on a bank holiday morning and headed back into town with my camera. So simple photoshoot from now on. Covered much of the ground we had the night before, but with the sun in the opposite direction it allowed for different views. And as it was a Monday, and a working day in Spain, the tourist heart of the city and the walls were almost deserted.
As you can see, I had the place to myself |
