Yala morning safari

Setting of from the hotel at 5:30 am meant another pre 5am wake up. Not ideal on holiday. And just me and the driver. I had expected to join others for a safari, but the hotel made no attempt to match me up with other people, although to be fair there were also not many guests.

But it was very enjoyable trip. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed safaris. But we were not alone - the dawn queue to enter Yala National Park

A jackal, just discernible at maximum zoom. Would never have spotted this without the aid of my driver. Who was also supposed to be keeping his eye on the road.....
