Back in Brighton for what was largely a nice day weatherwise. I had a toasted sandwich for brunch and headed off to my first venue past the Pavilion
First venue was Dust which I had also visited the day before. This time to see Martial Arts. No evidence of judo or karate, but I did like them. Sounded good although with minimal interaction with the audience
Not sure about the lead singer's shirt
I can't say much about the Slow Country as nearly all of their set I spent queuing to get into the Waterbear Venue (having spent a fair time just trying to find where it was!). I would probably have given up had I not met a regular the festival in the queue and had a very pleasant chat. Eventually I was admitted (they had a one in one out policy) and got about half a metre inside the door to catch their last two songs
I also only just squeezed in at the Prince Albert pub to see another basically shoegaze outfit, Goodbye. They were good, although the co lead singer had lost her voice. But the remaining one (below) was fine! Only one photo here as again I was not at the front and it was absolutely packed
And then off to join another queue to see Bones Ate Arfa again at the Presuming Ed's Coffee House. Fortunately when the previous act finished a lot of people left and so the lengthy queue could be absorbed before Bones Ate Arfa were due on. And I could get right the the front. But this was a coffee shop, so the front is an odd term. There was no stage, just a corner marked off with tape. For such an energetic band this was a ridiculously confined! They didn't play an identical set to the day before which was nice.
Although at the front, terrible lighting meant the photos aren't great, mostly because I was shooting against the front window as a backdrop. And I was right next to Sonny !
Herbie on drums has a decent six pack on him although difficult to capture in this light!
Arthur does like to jump about but here that meant he ended up with his head in the lampshade!
He apparently isn't a big fan of Reform!
