So second day and now the sun is shining and the sky is blue. So a day to potter around in the open air and takes some photos without any particular purpose. I thought I would start just by wandering around St Marks as it was on my doorstep, and its one of the most famous sites in the world.

The occasional cruise ship goes by too. Boy they are big. |
Turning left out of St Marks one walks along the Riva degli Schiavoni ie basically the waterfront with views across to San Giorgio Maggiore Santa Mario d Salute. All rather gorgeous.

The Arsenale |
Eventually you get into a bit of greenery with some parks - and still great views back to the city
The park also has a little cafe with this rather outstanding bronze of a gymnast - bit facsist maybe, but striking.
