Conway Castle

After a day of eating too much and helping build a wardrobe, my treat was a trip to Conway Castle. Or Conwy in Welsh. I am not sure they actually have their own language; they just suffer from mass dyslexia. By one of those odd miracles everywhere was grey and drizzly except for Conway which was blessed with blue skies. As you can see.

Actually these aren't the castle, just the very well preserved town walls.

Ok, this is the castle itself.

Offering fine views of the bay.

Unfortunately, being a Bank Holiday we did have to share the place with a lot of kids being entertained by actors who probably once harboured ambitions to play Hamlet but have been reduced to this.

Three crossings - modern road to left, picturesque footbrige down the middle and railway with faux castle fortifications on the right.

Down onto the Quayside its a bit tacky in truth.

but you could visit the smallest house in the country.
