Boston Bound

Thibault said he had never driven in snow before. Well he has now. Journey from New Haven to Boston gave him lots of opportunity. This is what it looked like through the windscreen.

We stopped for gas, so I got out to take a few shots of the car. As Thibault was paying the attendant said "Do you mind there is a man taking photos of your car?" Guess that's as close as IO got to being arrested in the States

We did however struggle through and by the time we got to Boston the snow hat turned into rain. We finally found or Airbnb flat and unloaded, regretting not having just dumped the hire car and got a taxi back. Driving in Boston isn't fun, even when you aren't the one driving, so what it was like for Thibault I can only imagine.

Our flat was a fine choice though. Good location. One catch was that the flat is at the top of an old building and had very now winding stairs. Certainly wouldn't have liked getting furniture up it. Hauling a suitcase was bad enough.

But it was a very well-equipped and furnished two-bedroomed flat. Bedrooms and kitchen were on the first floor.

The sitting room was up another flight of stairs, but a very welcoming and comfortable space.

With the added bonus of an outside terrace. Which would have been very nice in summer. Which it was not. And if quite. Which it was not. But it did overlook the Hudson River. Can't complain.

The City was within walking distance, and the metro nearby too. All in all a winner.
