My friend Nigelk had a spare ticket for the Spurs v Burnley game (having 4 season tickets for his family) so invited me a along for waht was, to be fair, one of the less glamorous fixtures on the list. But it was a trip to Wembley with a prime seat and food and drink before and at half time, so not to be turned down lightly.
Have to say that the turkey burger would be at the lowere end of catering, but the seat was just over half way line and near the front. Which would, in other circumstances, be very desirable. Those "other circumstances" would be dry weather. And dry it was not. It pelted down throughout, and the roof at Wembley just does not cover the front rows.
One had to be impressed with Sean Dyche, the Burnley manager who stood out in the rain throughout. And also moaned to the fourth official non-stop. About just about everything.
And for the record, the game was pretty dire. Burnley did nothing but defend tenaciously, only to concede a goal right at the end. I am sure Mr Dyche was gutted. he looked it, as well as soaked.
