You will probably not have heard of the ancient hill town of Arcos de la Frontera. It isn't one of the most famous spots in Spain, or even Andalusia. But it served us well as somewhere to wander around and stretch our legs, plus have lunch, on the drive from Seville to Cadiz. Definitely worth a stop. And the climb up the bell tower for the views.
Wandering around Spanish cathedrals and churches it is hard to disagree with Thibault's assessment of catholicism as basically an unhealthy death cult. With a mother fixation added on.
