Turin Cathedral and Museum of Oriental Art

So this is Turin cathedral, "sold" mainly on housing the Turin Shroud rather than being particularly impressive as a building.

Porta Palatina - one of the Roman gates to the city

My main target for the late afternoon was the Museum of Oriental Art which I found very hard to spot amongst the crowded streets near the palace. It is not at all well signposted. An interesting collection - and very varied. Most oriental art collections tend to be largely Chinese but this was not. All the better for being housed in the Palazzo Manzonis, so a backdrop of faded grandeur

There is a little outside terrace with a bonsai collection

And finally Turin by night, with Christmas illuminations in all their glory.
