James I/VI at Scottish National Portrait Gallery

Shows in afternoons and evenings of course left mornings fee. Time for a gallery. The Scottish National Portrait Gallery had an exhibition on James VI of Scotland who became James 1 of England after Queen Elizabeth I's death.

But the gallery here is worth a visit anyway. You had to go through the modern portraits to get to the exhibition

Novelist Alexander McCall Smith

The amazing central lobby, worth coming just to see this

Believe it or not, this was supposed to be Sean Connery

So, into the exhibition I had come to see. We don't have a wealth of material relating to James I so this exhibition did feel a bit like we will throw in everything even if only slight connection to the king

The man himself
