Galloway Country Fair

Being a city boy it has been a long time since I was last at a country fair. It was quite fun, especially for the kids, although we needed to dodge the showers a bit. I was expecting more showing of farm animals, but one couldn't really complain at the variety.

A display of birds of prey

You could pick up a tractor

There was a re-enactment of Roman and Ancient British charioteering

Then something more modern, stunt quad biking

The boys had a go at shooting

Then zorbing, although they were rather bigger than the average kid in these

Charlie sensibly dumped his glasses for a go on the big wheel.

Not sure what Leo had spotted, but it did give a good view of the parade ground behind us

All presided over by the castle

Trampolining next for the lads

Charlie getting into somersaults

On our way out we poassed a tent allowing the kids to handle various animals. Who would have thought that this would be their favourite activity? The reticulated python a particular hit, although the boys were a bit wary of the head..

I think Charlie in particular is an animal lover!
