And following the freeze comes the snow

And boy did we get a lot of snow. Saturday night my back garden looked like this.

And by Saturday morning was this.

So I set out at half past seven in the morning before almost anyone else was up, to photograph Palmers Green in the snow.

And then onto my local park again. Don't these photos make you think of The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe - the door into Narnia?

And what was beyond was just so pretty it was almost worth the frostbite. Sorry for the sheer numbers, but well it was perfect, and we won't get this much snow again for a while. Unless of course global warming really hits.

But even after that I thought I would go on up to Grovelands Park, via the Woodman public house, which looks better than it ever has in the snow. A slightly Dickensian look. And indeed it would have been around in Dickens' day.

Grovelands is an especially attractive park, originally designed by Humphrey Repton, one of the greatest English landscape designers after Capability Brown.
