Castle Rising

This was a boys' excursion to a castle. Castle Rising. This is a surprisingly old building, the keep dating to around 1140.

 Staring down the well of despond. It was a bit of a wet day. A few more rooved parts would have been welcome.

The grounds contain an even older ruined church dating back to 1100.
