North Berwick

Sunday was gloriously sunny in Edinburgh so we decided to head to the beach. North Berwick was supposed to be beautiful. So off we went.

Going along the coast one could see how beautiful the seaside round here was. Until we reached North Berwick. When everything disappeared into the mist. Or fog.

The ghostly images in the background bear witness to how misty it was.

But then after a lobster and chips lunch miraculously the mists cleared and revealed beautiful blue skies and the wonderful coastal scenery.

The area is renowned for its sea birds, especially the gannets that nest on a rock offshore. Here are more mundane gulls enjoying rocks just a little beyond the human seasiders.

Kirsty and I and the kids went for a walk around the headland. Very pretty.

I even spotted an Oystercatcher amongst the rocks

The town is very attractive too.
