Chippenham for Christmas, Exeter for New Year

I was spending Christmjas with friends in Wiltshire, so I decided to get to Chippenham (nearest rail station) and spend an afternoon looking round it. Had hoped to include a visit to the local museum, but failed. They had decided to close early and have a half day since it was the day before Christmas Eve. Grump.

Now if you want to see a super creepy monument to times gone by in a church you would do well to beat this family memorial. It depicts mother and father and all their children
The little girls carrying skulls are all the ones who died in infancy. Sweet.

Lavish Christmas preparations as always

Night before Christmas Eve was rather a big one for Eamonn Eoin and I. Eamonn spent most of the next day just groaning.
If you need a stuffed toy disembowling this hound is clearly the one for the job

Not everyone has space for a full scale billiards table...

And then onto Exeter for New Year with a different set of friends.
Nice walk on surrounding hills on New Years Day
