Sundowner game drive at Tremisana

After an afternoon off for good behaviour (and little nap to recover from 5 am start) we went on another game drive around the lodge area. And soon came face to face with a black rhino. When you are up this close what you quickly appreciate is what noisy grazers they are.

If you are curious about the rhino horns, they are all removed. And then have to be cut again as it grows back. (that also accounts for little ear tags which mark when the horn was removed and so the date they need another go) The horns aren't needed by the rhino, and are cut off to deter poachers. Basically the problem is very stupid very rich Chinese men who think powdered horn will be good for their virility. Viagra is cheaper you sad fucks....

Hopefully one day there will be no need for this. The only thing the horns are is aesthetically pleasing on the end of a rhino.

A bit of clambering over the rocks and we found a nice spot to drink our beers overlooking the Olifants River. And watch the sun go down
