Worlds End

I had to get up at 4am to ensure we were in place to see the sun rise over the Horton Plains. An impressive sight on a clear day. Apparently. In thick fog, however, nothing.

It had cleared a bit by the time we got to the National Park, in time for a 5 mile hike to Worlds End.

And this is Worlds End. Would have been nicer on a clearer day. But impressive. And a bit vertigo inducing

My favourite sign ever.

As you can see, there was a footpath to follow, but just not a very even one.

Of course, being a safari this should be about wildlife. But even they weren't keen on the damp foggy weather. Way in the distance some monkeys. Yes yet are in the middle of the photo, look carefully.

Sri Lanka's national bird - the jungle fowl.

And apparently there are leopards. Now I can confirm that the least attractive part of a leopard to spot is its poo. This is leopard poo. You would prefer to see spotted furry coat wouldn't you?
