Seville Cathedral

The last thing I did in Seville is go to the site it is most famous for, its Cathedral . Reckoned to be the largest in Europe. Like Cordoba's its been created out of a mosque, although rather more radically. I decided it was worth getting in the queue well before it opened. Although its big, there are also a lot of tourists wanting to fill it. And needless to say the atmosphere is rather better without gaggles of oriental tourists each being lectured to by their own guides while photographing each other.

The usual collection of fraudulent relics encrusted in jewels and precious metals.

You see, I am not exaggerating about the oriental tourists, all trying to look at the same object at the same time

This is the mausoleum of Christopher Columbus.

And one of the joys of the cathedral is the ability to climb the tower. Great gargoyles.
