Liverpool

Our departmental away day this year was in Liverpool.

We stayed in, and did our educational bits in, the Titanic Hotel. This is a very cool hotel in a converted warehouse. Only catch is that it really is on its own - between the centre of the city and the hotel there is straightforward dereliction.

The terrace above looks across at the derelict tobacco warehouse opposite it, derelict but in the process of being converted into flats.

Anyway, after our various discussion groups we were taken on a walking tour of the City - a finer day for it would be hard to imagine.

Our tour included going up the Radio City Tower for a panoramic view of the city.

We also trekked through the public library.

And we finished with the Beatles statues - everyone has their photo taken with these
And back to the hotel. While most took the opportunity of going to a nightclub in the Albert Dock, a few of us, especially those with an early train the next morning, formed a splinter group staying in the hotel for a few drinks on the terrace.

This by the way is the corridor - very dark.

Truly massive rooms.
