Bristol away day

Every year the department has an away Friday somewhere to discuss non client work matters. This year that was in Bristol at the Mercure Grand. Does make one appreciate how big a department we are now. When I joined we could have sat around a small dining room table. Now we occupy a conference room that was once a ballroom.

After which we went on a street art walking tour, Bristol being the home of Banksy (as our tour guide never stopped mentioning!)

I preferred some of the older art!
But it can't be denied that the street art improves some incredibly dire brutalist architecture in this part of Bristol.

And this is a genuine Banksy.

After a fine dinner on the Friday night I stayed on in Bristol to meet for lunch and a tour of the city, with one of our old trainees who now lives and works in the city.

Up into Clifton, Bristol's Georgian quarter and something of a rival to Bath as an attraction.

And following lunch with Ollie I had a little wander on my own part.

Couldn't pass up the chance to delve into the museum and art gallery.
