Stornoway and the London-Brighton rally

I had a visit (last year!) from my mate James who came to see a band called Stornoway. A sort of folk band from Oxford who have a rather limited general profile but I have been surprised at how many people have heard of them. Anyway, they reformed after a long hiatus and James fancied coming down to see them - here we are at the front!

Support act - I am afraid I have long forgotten her name

And Stornoway - lead vocalist led the band on playing a trowel as percussion. They are an unusual band. Indeed the lead singer split not out of musical differences but because he got a job managing a bird reserve

Next day James suggested we go and see the cars lined up before the London to Brighton vintage car rally before going to the RAC club for lunch. So here they all are. There was also a car Bonhams auction viewing, so this is a combination of photos from the two.

From the auction viewing - some classic cars of a more recent vintage.

Some of the cars to be auctioned were more of a project...

Back to the rally

And from an exhibition of automotive art
