Barri Gotic

The old town, the Gothic Quarter is pleasing rabbit warren of alleyways with numerous historic buildings and little new development.

I rather liked the church of Santa Maria del Pi, with its wonderful huge rose window.

It also has a little treasury with suitably lavish monstrances, crowns and the like

 The Placa del Rei

A very large onyx buddha in a shop window
A little alley leads rather incongruously to two Roman pillars and nothing much else, completely surrounded by later buildings

The history museum is all connected to the Royal Palace and Roman excavations underneath.

Down into the excavations below. This is a section of the Roman City walls, showing its use of recycled materials.

This included an industrial area . These bits are from a dying workshop.

And these are involved in the wine-trade.
