Rochefort-en-Terre

Rochefort would have a decent shout in any most beautiful village competition. Stone built houses, cobbled streets, floral flourishes and a big house. And fine selection of ice creams on sale. What's not to like?

And having walked through the village you come to a path up to the big house. Which is picturesque of course, although a bit marred by restoration work at the moment. Scaffolding isn't the most flattering covering for any building.

Now one can't visit the house per se, but I persuaded Phil to go to the "Strange Worlds" exhibition being held in one part of it. This was one of my best decisions. It was brilliant, and weird. Science-fiction meets art. I could have taken lots more photos. Actually it was quite a small exhibition, but one wanted to spend time looking at everything. Paintings, sculptures large and small, many moving or lighting up. Think Alien.

It continued out into the courtyard

 ...and down into the basement

And then out again into the real world, but a beautiful one.
