Barcelona - Orientation

With Luka on a gap year, I offered to take him and his mate Jasper out to Barcelona for a few days in November. Not a bad time to go as well out of season., but the weather was still mild.

Having found our apartment in the delightfully named district of Clot, we headed out for dinner. I suggested a tapas meal. his went down so well with the boys that tapas was the choice for every night for the trip.

Our apartment was just perfect for three. We each had our own bedroom, the spacious couch seated three with room to spare for our nightly film and beer session and beyond there was a well equipped kitchen which was primarily used for Luka frying us brunch😀

First morning was lovely and bright so we just went on a general bit of exploration. Starting with the dramatic Cascada, a very ostentatious water fountain and artificial lake

Then we headed down to the modern waterfront. Luka displaying his skills.

The famous Gehry fish, a distinctive landmark

From the ultra modern waterfront area we wandered into the gothic quarter for the opposite extreme, Barcelona's medieval heart.

As the sun set we found ourselves in the Christmas market
