So here are some pics from the rest of our stay in Barcelona. It is a great city for sightseeing, but I also didn't want to wear the lads out with too much of an itinerary. So we got into a nice pattern of going out for dinner in Clot, then back to our apartment for a film and a few beers into the small hours, a leisurely start in the morning and then some only slightly structured sightseeing, but partly just wandering about and seeing what there was when we came to it.
And something we were not expecting was to find an Irish bar (well there is one in every city) in a Modernisme building (which ties it really to Barcelona) but with a pool table. This was a fun way of passing a little time in the afternoon with the guys.
We decided to take a little boat trip. Unfortunately we (or rather Luka) discovered two things. He was underdressed for the temperature on the water, and he gets sea sick. Both became evident as the boat came out of the calm waters in the harbour and into the Med proper.
No trip to Barcelona is complete without a visit to Sagrada Familia. Luka was a little lukewarm as to the idea of visiting a cathedral but was gratifyingly impressed when he got inside
We needed a little snack to await our timed slot.... |
For our final day, on which the weather was particularly fine, I suggested taking it easy and head back to the beach. And the lads decided it was warm enough for a swim. Well from my viewpoint it was warm enough to watch someone take a swim. But the water really wasn't all that warm, although air temperature in the sun made it pretty pleasant on the beach.
And Christmas around the corner
