North Greenwich

A sunny but chilly day, so I thought it a good opportunity to continue my docklands walks, starting at North Greenwich, best known for the O2, formerly the Millennium Dome. It is interesting how the dome which was once a white elephant and joke project has had such a successful after life. There was never anything wrong with the building itself, just the contents. And what went wrong with the contents was it changed from something exciting to the requirement to be worthy and educational. Which is always the death knell.

But now it has been converted for fun - concerts and restaurants - it has become very successful. And this area of London has gone from unvisited and forlorn to busy and prosperous looking. Basically very successful regeneration.
