Casa de Pilatos

As you can see Monday was a s wet as Sunday. And all the museums are closed on Mondays.

Luckily Casa de Pilatos was not. This is delightful Palace, and again not plagued by tour groups. A very pleasant place to wander around although like Palacio Lebrija the upstairs can only be visited by a rather crowded guided tour. But a better guide. The pretty but modest exterior belies the treasures inside.

Again a stunning courtyard is the main feature.

But the various gardens run the courtyard close...

This is the chapel. The marble pillar is supposed to be where Jesus was tied to be flogged before crucifixion. Of course its not, its just a bit of marble pillar.

Now your eyes do not deceive you. This is a painting of a bearded woman. One suspects she was just a bit hairy..
