Cordoba - The Alcazar and all the rest

Cordoba is a great city for a daytrip, maybe an overnight stay too, but probably not much more. If you see the Cathedral, the Alcazar and the bridge right by them you will probably feel satisfied. And even in October it was hot, so you are likely not to want to do much more. Certainly there are nice streets to wander through.

The bridge is spectacular, not least for the views. Could do without the street musicians...

The Alcazr has a lot less to see than the one on Seville, but is still well worth a visit. A lot of it involves going up the battlements so expect steep stairs. Not for claustrophobics. But you would like the views if you went for it.

The interior does contain one large room full of mosaics which is a  treat. Regrettably its a chapel so not ideal lay out for viewing.

But the best part of the visit is to wander through the gardens, which fortunately offer a lot of shade.

So back to Seville on an ultra modern train after a very good day out.
