Our Sunday was rather spoiled by the storm the night before, or rather by the weather warnings. Several places, including the botanical gardens and the prehistory museum had taken the opportunity to take a day off and remain closed. The irony of this as we walked through the city was that far from extreme weather, it wasn't even raining.
However this modern art gallery (known for short as IVAM) was open, and provided a pleasant diversion. The collection started in the early part of the twentieth century and frankly that was the best part, deteriorating thereafter. A good representative collection with a painting or two by most of the twentieth century big hitters
