Noto

Noto is a fine baroque town, now very much on the tourist map. We went there as a morning trip with lunch

It has many fine churches as well as the cathedral

The interior is rather plain, but it has been rebuilt after the dome collapsed in 1996, so most of the interior decor is 21st century 

The Palazzo Ducezio opposite the cathedral gives great views of San Nicolo from the balcony just off the council chamber

There was even a small but particularly nice theatre to visit
