Rural Brittany

We did a morning of exploring little sites around the area. Every village has a well-maintained and seemingly oversized church, and a calvary. This one had a particularly large calvary.

Then onto a semi-ruined mansion/farmhouse, under restoration. Once completed, which may be sometime, it will be quite stunning.

And then a roadside grotto, complete with Madonna surrounded by tasteful fairy lights.

Followed by a climb up the hill to follow a set of post war sculptures of the stations of the cross. Notable mostly for the utterly expressionless figures, like enormous chess pieces.

An original, but heavily restored little chapel nearby

And some more grand farm buildings under restoration.
