After a hiatus since the summer, Sweet Unrest got back their residency at the venue above the Camden Eye. And this was a cracking return. All the acts were really good and I even got chatting to various members of the audience who I knew were in other bands, like one of the twins in the Station, and Troy, lead singer of the Mitchells, whom I had also spotted at the Another Day gig earlier in the week.
And the surprise turn (who was already playing when I arrived because he had been slotted in ahead of doors open time on the ticket), was Laurie Wright, whom I am going to see headline a show later this month. Yes, really he was here to promote ticket sales for his Electric Ballroom show, which is a much bigger venue to fill than this one.
Then another guy I recognised in the audience was actually lead vocalist for the next act, A.R.T. I realised I had seen them play at an all day indie music festival. They really got the crowd going, and the lead singer gives a show 110% effort. And not everyone can pull off a leopard print shirt....
And finally Sweet Unrest. Always enjoy their shows, but I have said that enough in previous reviews, so will leave it at that.
