The first real "activity" of the wedding week was a trip up Table Mountain. The younger fitter members of the party walked up. The older folk (and the pregnant) took the cable car!
What Table Mountain obviously offers is great views. Especially on a gloriously clear day like this one. Equally remarkable is that you have this mountain right next to a major city, just a short bus ride up to the cable car station.

One neat extra with the cable car is that the floor revolves so everyone gets an all round view on the way up and down
As I have been to Cape Town a couple of times before I recognised that one of the easiest ways to get up to the cable car station is to catch the hop on hop off sightseeing bus - which also allows one a sightseeing tour of the city. Indeed there are three possible lops and you can interchange between them, so before getting off at the cable car station I did an entire loop of the city and got off at the station on my second loop around!
There is a reason why Cape Town, and in particular Camps Bay, is one of the most desirable places in the world to live - nice climate, great food and wine, wonderful beaches, fine houses...
